Maintenance Engineer

💷 Salary: Up to £45,000 (depending on experience)

✅ Must Haves:
✅ Proven background in maintenance engineering (electrical and/or mechanical)
✅ Experience within a manufacturing environment
✅ Ability to fault find and diagnose both electrical and mechanical issues
✅ Confident working independently and planning maintenance schedules
✅ Experience with motors, drives, PLCs, pneumatics, and automation systems

⏰ Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm (with some flexibility for occasional out-of-hours work)

Join a leading UK manufacturer of upholstered bed frames and mattresses at their modern facility in Leeds. As part of an expanding operation, you’ll play a key role in shaping and developing the site’s maintenance function — ensuring all machinery runs safely, smoothly, and efficiently.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of machinery (cutting, sewing, and packing systems).

  • Develop and improve preventative maintenance schedules.

  • Support machinery installations, upgrades, and relocations.

  • Manage stock, spare parts, and maintenance records.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement and lean initiatives.

  • Ensure all activities meet health, safety, and compliance standards.

✨ Desirable Extras:

  • 18th Edition or equivalent electrical qualification

  • Experience with textile or packaging machinery

  • CMMS knowledge

  • Basic fabrication/welding ability
