About the Role
This Mechanical Design Engineer role offers a chance to work across diverse, technically challenging projects spanning Defence, Aerospace, Nuclear, and Infrastructure sectors. You’ll play a hands-on part in delivering robust, compliant, and innovative mechanical design solutions from concept through to commissioning.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll join a multi-disciplinary team of experts, contributing to design excellence, precision engineering, and technical validation on projects that truly make an impact.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Develop and deliver detailed mechanical designs across concept, detailed design, and manufacture phases.
🔹 Create high-quality 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings.
🔹 Produce and maintain engineering documentation including calculations, risk assessments, and compliance files.
🔹 Validate designs through analysis, simulation, and prototype testing.
🔹 Collaborate across departments — from Sales and Production to Quality and Installation — ensuring projects meet performance, cost, and schedule targets.
🔹 Support on-site activities and commissioning with technical expertise.
🔹 Drive continuous improvement by contributing to design process development and lessons learned.
Desirable Skills
✨ Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
✨ Working towards or holding professional registration (IEng or CEng).
✨ Experience with moving machinery, automation systems, or kinetic assemblies.
✨ Familiarity with highly regulated sectors such as Defence or Aerospace.
